Dear manufacturers of the world!
I’m Kenji Midorikawa, chairman of the All-Japan Manufacturing Industry Koma Taisen.
The manufacturing industry in Japan has been in a economical depression lately.
We are a company established in Yokohama City, which produces wooden molds for manufacturing industry.
It is common practice for many small and medium sized manufacturers to be a subcontractors for much larger firms, often making and supplying what their customer demand. Large companies dominate the market and has a great effect on smaller firms. If these larger companies fail this will have a directly correlation with small firms, which may also go out of business.
Koma(spinning top) Taisen(Battles) event is held to bring small Japanese manufacturing companies together, to network consult and motivate each other, which would make us all more secure in the future.
About 1400 companies participated in previous competitions, which we have held twice times in the past and a National Champion was selected. This year the event will be held in February 2015 in Yokohama, where we will select a world koma champion..
The battle rules are simple.
- You twist a koma with one hand using your fingers on a dohyou (round shape table) of 250mm diameter.
- Any shape, weight or material are allowed as long as the diameter of the koma is less than 20mm.
- If the koma goes out of the dohyou or stops before the opponent , the player loses.
Some of the previous participants have said, “communications between a manager and employees has strengthened”, “the factory workers’ technical skills have been evaluated.”
We would like to invite your company to participate in the world Koma Taisen.
